In this section we cover the basic rules of paintball and then 2 quick variations: dead man walking and dead man silent. In every game, we recommend having a designated referee. Even for the home games, it’s going to make the game a lot more fun when someone is designated to be an impartial judge. Of course, the issue is that most people want to play and have no desire to be the referee. One compelling reason to be the referee is that you’ll gain some insight to how both teams play the game and potentially learn about your opponents while observing the game. Being a referee and having the opportunity to observe can make you a better player. We cover the basic rules below. At the end of the day, as long as both teams agree to a set of rules and abide by them, there’s no reason you can’t write your own set of rules. We simply outline the most commonly accepted rules and rules that are used professionally. The key to rules is for everyone to agree on the rules, have a referee to make decisions on close calls and be an honorable player. If everyone in your group does that, you will certainly have a great time shooting at each other! |
